National Personal Finance Challenge

National Personal Finance Challenge

2023 National Personal Finance Challenge winners

The National Personal Finance Challenge (NPFC) provides high school students with the tools to make smart financial decisions that can lead to a secure financial future. Voya Foundation partners with the Council for Economic Education (CEE) to host the NPFC, to provide students with the opportunity to build and demonstrate their knowledge of money management. By participating in the competition, students learn to navigate life’s financial milestones or the instances in one’s life with the highest likelihood of influencing the ability to achieve a secure retirement: student debt, credit, housing and home ownership, financial products and services, and family financial planning.

About the Challenge

Teams of students from high schools across the country are given two hours to analyze a hypothetical family scenario and create a meaningful financial plan to showcase their expertise in several areas, including: earning income, financial products and services, credit and managing debt, investing, taxes and more, to bring a fictional American family into financial stability. This fun and motivating team experience begins with competitions at the state level. The winning team from each participating state moves on to the National Championships to compete in front of a panel of judges, including Voya leaders, for a chance to win the National Title.
